Automation and Robotics Parts Disposal

What is automation?

Automation refers to the technologies which automate an industrial manufacturing or warehousing process – minimising the amount of human labour needed. Automation consists of mechanical and electrical applications which have been integrated into existing machinery or systems.

What is automation & robotics parts disposal?

Automation and robotics components may become damaged, broken, or outdated… There are many reasons why a business may need to dispose of its automation and robotics equipment. Automation and robotics parts disposal is the act of asset disposal: acquiring these parts for resale or for destruction. This service can have several names – including automation parts salvage and robot parts recovery.

Types of automation & robotics

All types of automation and robotics equipment are suitable for commercial equipment disposal. Recyclers Rewarded is experienced with undertaking work of this nature, including working with:

  • Automated weighing scales
  • Packing machinery
  • Glueing machines
  • Automated pallet racking
  • Order picking equipment

What is the automation & robotics disposal process?

Recyclers Rewarded work on a simple disposal process. We give you a valuation facilitated by a free site survey or online assessment. At this point, the valuation will depend on whether you intend to remove and transport the automation and robotics equipment yourself, or whether you require Recyclers Rewarded’s professional team to complete this; you will be given two figures in reflection of this. Once you have confirmed your preferred process, the robot can be salvaged for parts. The parts suitable for resale can be sold on, and you will be fairly compensated by us from whatever amount we recover.

Our success with asset disposal in the automation & robotics sector

When a large plumbing supplies company vacated their warehouse as part of an internal restructure, Recyclers Rewarded were contacted to survey their automated pallet racking system. Whilst the system itself was deemed too bespoke for resale, that didn’t stop us seeing the potential and completing a survey of the parts suitable for recovery. Once this had been agreed with the clients, we worked with the client’s elected site clearance contractor to arrange access for us to recover the parts. All in all, we recovered some 200 items which include Siemens HMI screens, Control Techniques drives, Rexroth servo motors, light guards, safety switches, sensors and more.

We also recently purchased 10 Panasonic welding robots from a Midlands fabrication company as part of factory machinery disposal. These were an obsolete model which we went on to process into parts to be sold all over the world.

Automation & Robotics Disposal - Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's)

Factory Automation involves the use of robots and other automated technologies to reduce or eliminate the need for human labour in manufacturing processes. Automated tasks include things like monitoring machinery, controlling production lines, and completing repetitive activities. By using these technologies, manufacturers can increase productivity and reduce costs.

When it comes to disposing of used robots, there are a few options. You can sell them as is, or you can have them recycled by a reputable recycler. Selling your robots is the simplest option, but this isn't always possible, depending on the condition and age of the robot. Alternatively, if you wish to recycle your robots instead of selling them, then you should look for an approved recycler who specialise in Automation and Robotics Disposal.

Dispenser robots are typically discarded in a landfill. This is because they cannot be salvaged or recycled due to their construction materials and the difficulty of taking them apart. For this reason, it's important that dispenser robots are disposed of in a responsible manner by following all applicable environmental regulations.

The five waste disposal methods are landfilling, incineration, recycling and composting, energy recovery, and chemical treatment. Each method has its own advantages and disadvantages, so it's important to understand each before deciding which one is best for your situation.

All of these types of robots can be disposed of in a responsible manner. The process will vary depending on the type and condition of the robot, but typically it involves recycling or repurposing certain components before disposing of them.

Factory robots are an invaluable tool for manufacturing businesses, and they can help to increase efficiency and reduce costs. However, proper disposal of these robots must be taken into consideration in order to protect the environment. There are several methods available for disposing of used robots, so it's important to research each one in order to find the best option.

There are certain parts of factory robots that can be salvaged and re-sold. Commonly salvageable parts include motors, sensors, cables, and other electrical components. However, the condition of the parts will vary depending on the age of the robot and its usage history. It's important to research each part carefully before attempting to sell it, to ensure that it is still functional.

E-waste is any electronic device or component that is no longer being used. This includes things like computers, tablets, smartphones, printers, and other electrical appliances. It's important to dispose of e-waste in a responsible manner, as it contains hazardous materials which can be damaging to the environment if not properly disposed of.

Yes, many types of e-waste are hazardous. This is because they contain materials such as lead and mercury, which can be harmful to humans and the environment if not disposed of properly. It's important to research the type of e-waste you have before disposing of it in order to understand any potential risks associated with it.

The life cycle of a factory-automated robot typically consists of four stages: design, implementation and operation, maintenance and repair, and disposal. During the design stage, engineers create the necessary plans for the building and programming of the robot. The implementation and operation phase is when the robot is actually constructed and put into use.
