Parts Salvage Service

What is a parts salvage service?

A parts salvage service refers to the obtaining of parts by a disposal business. Recyclers Rewarded purchases the spare parts you no longer require, offering you the opportunity to make a better return than disposing of spare parts through more conventional methods such as auction.

We take all kinds of parts – from industrial machinery parts to OEM parts. If you need to clear an engineer’s store room or dispose of an old machine, we can help.

Recyclers Rewarded parts salvage capabilities

Recyclers Rewarded have a vast capacity for buying, removing, and disposing of your surplus parts. We can buy different grades of parts – ranging from brand new, used and tested, to untested spares and repair lots.

We have engineers on hand to remove parts, however we can offer a better value if the items are removed directly and sent to us – meaning we can keep costs down, bids high, and provide a better return overall.

Our successful parts salvage operations

Recyclers Rewarded has been involved in several disposals for a large multinational manufacturing company. These clients approached us wanting to realise a better value for their end of use equipment. However, they were also concerned about maintaining the security around some of their patented tooling and processes. We were able to recover from their process equipment parts of automation suitable for resale, whilst also ensuring the secure destruction of the items they deemed sensitive. Overall, our clients realised their reuse goals whilst protecting their future operations.

We also recently offered on a 10T, 15 year old Bridgeport CNC for factory machinery disposal. The client received an offer of £180 per ton minus removal fees, generating a value of around £1300. The client sent us photos of their machine and we were able to compile an offer list following this. They were then given two prices – one which accounted for removal by themselves and the second accounting for our engineer to attend the site and remove the items for them. They decided on the second option since they had limited availability. Recyclers Rewarded recovered the parts from the site before the machine was loaded for disposal, with the final bid covering the removal cost completely!

What effect does machine parts salvage have on the environment?

Machine parts recovery and salvage, alongside asset disposal in general, ensures more parts are reused, rather than ending up in landfill – contributing to a greener and more conscious future. Recyclers Rewarded service is undertaken in mind of this as we build a network of re-users across the globe who actively seek well-sourced parts at a fair price.

Parts Salvage - Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's)

The primary purpose of salvaging machine parts is to generate cash from the sale of redundant or damaged parts. By selling these parts, a company can get some money back from what would have otherwise been wasted. Additionally, the salvaged parts can be used as spares and repairs for other working systems and machines.

Many salvage services specialize in recovering parts from broken machines. Often these parts are still in good working order and can be used for spares or repairs. It's important to note, however, that some parts may not be suitable for reuse and should instead be recycled or disposed of responsibly.

Yes, CNC machines can be salvaged for spares and parts. The components that make up the machine will often still be usable even if the overall machine is damaged or no longer in working condition. This means that these components can then be sold on or reused as spares and repairs for other machines.

Recycling and landfilling are two of the main alternatives to parts salvaging. Recycling is a great option for machines that contain valuable metals or components that can be repurposed into new products, such as aluminium or copper.

Overall, salvaging machine parts is a great way to generate some cash back from old machinery. By searching for buyers that specialize in these components, businesses can get some money back without having to scrap the whole machine or spend on new parts.

In some cases, the part may need to be refurbished or repaired in order to make it suitable for use on a new machine. Many parts salvage services will inspect the parts before selling them and attempt to fix any issues that they find.

Yes, broken machine parts can be worth some money. Even if the part is not in working condition, it may still have value as a scrap item. Salvage services will often buy these parts at a reduced rate and then break them down into smaller components or recycle the metals used to construct them.

A parts salvage evaluation is an assessment of the components and parts that make up a piece of machinery. During this evaluation, experienced professionals will inspect each part and assess its condition and value. This allows them to determine how much money they can recover from salvaging the parts or whether it would be more cost-effective to scrap the machine altogether.

Parts salvaging can save on waste as it limits the need for the production of new parts. By reusing components from old machines, businesses can fix new machines without having to create new components from scratch.
